Law October 8, 2010, No 170, is the new law on dyslexia

Dyslexia and specific learning disorders: at last there is a law of the State .

After long legislative process on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 was approved by the Senate that the law recognizes and defines some specific learning disorders (ASD) in schools which dyslexia, dysgraphia , dysorthography and dyscalculia .

a rule, during the deliberation that was approved today by the 7 th Standing Committee (Public education, cultural heritage, scientific research, entertainment and sport), which recognizes the existence of these disorders by stimulating school to early detection and defining the places of the route Diagnostic .

"There is satisfaction that today's approval comes after a long rulemaking process that attests to the existence and extending legal protection to about 350,000 students, representing 5% of school-age population." , said the president of ' AID (Italian Dyslexia Association), Leo Rosabianca.

The law, which will be a budget of 2 million euro in total for the years 2010-2011, provides the right to use the compensation measures and dispensers throughout the school curriculum including the University and ensure the preparation of teachers and school leaders. For the families will also be given the opportunity to take advantage of flexible working hours. Moreover, if the diagnosis is not available at the facilities of the NHS, the law gives the possibility of at accredited facilities.
